I’m a writer, director, producer, and educator.

In my main gig as a high school drama teacher, I’ve run the theatre program at Cupertino High School In Silicon Valley for a long time, helping the children of Silicon Valley engineers find emotional truth on their way to jobs in Big Tech. Sometimes they break free- You can see and experience the influence of my students, or legends, as I call them, everywhere from Broadway to Hollywood.  I won Teacher Of The Year once and can assure you it’s underrated as an accomplishment.

I am a screenwriter, playwright and writing teacher whose original pilot for television “Department of One” won the Audience Choicd award at the Dances With Films LA festival in 2025. It is, of course, about a high school drama teacher who goes rogue trying to save a former student.

I write about best practices in educational theatre on Substack and lead workshops as well as mentor educators in creating powerful ensemble environments for young actors.

I ask my students to work in truth, and provide a creative world where they can light their own fires.
